Bride and The City

Our Rock N' Bride and The City bridal shower was inspired by the movie and HBO series Sex and The City starring Sarah Jessica Parker. Now although the title and nature of the film comes off as risqué and maybe even a little tasteless to some, this shower was simply exquisite.

When this theme was given to us, the room was filled with confused “hmms” and “hums” because all we could think of was the DIY Sex and The City bridal showers we’ve seen on Pinterest. We didn’t want to have the typical black, pink, and zebra print color scheme with feather boas, pearls, heels, and lipsticks. We wanted to take this theme and make it our own, both refined and classy in true Rock N’ fashion!

The Planning Process

The Venue: We needed a venue that screamed Sex and The City and The LoftSEVEN Penthouse in Downtown Los Angeles did just that. With the striking Historic LA skyscrapers as its backdrop LoftSEVEN PH was the obvious choice!

The Design: From the very beginning we eliminated pink and black but thought how can you do sex and the city without pink? Well, we went glitz and glam all the way and chose gold, silver, gray, and white as our color scheme.

Our floral arrangements provided by Elegant Thorn we're clusters of white calla lilies, baby roses, and hydrangeas. 

We used Carrie Gold by Wild Flower Linens to be one of the most detailed features in our design. (Carrie is the main characters name in Sex and the City --- coincidence????)
